Although membership dues support the Out to Innovate Bulletin and a very modest outreach program, we depend on additional donations to support most of our current program goals:

  • Support Out to Innnovate™, our biennial cross-generational summit for LGBTQ+ people in STEM.
  • Support our scholarship fund for LGBTQ+ students in STEM.
  • Host a reception at each of the annual meetings of AAAS, ACS, FACEB, IEEE, SWE, and SACNAS.
  • Support our Recognition Awards program.
  • Support our mentoring program for LGBTQ+ science/engineering students.
  • Fund outreach supplies and NOGLSTP representative travel to Out and Equal conferences, E-Week Diversity Council meetings, and Out to Innovate -sponsored symposia, receptions and outreach events.
  • Fund start-up expenses for local Out to Innovate affiliates (regional groups and caucuses).

Your donation will be made to National Organization of Gay and Lesbian Scientists and Technical Professionals, who is doing business as Out to Innovate. NOGLSTP is a 501c3 educational organization, so any donation you give to us is tax-deductible. You can let us decide how best to use your donation, or you can restrict it for use on a specific project. For your records, our tax ID number is 95-4358685, and this link leads to a copy of our IRS determination letter. Ways to make a donation

Preferred: Donate through the PayPal Giving Fund

  • Advantages: 100% fee free to you and to us; instant charitable contribution receipt; includes recurring or one-time options
  • Disadvantages: No native mechanism to designate what program you want your donation to support (but you can email your donation receipt to the Treasurer with a request to designate your support to a specific program).

  • Advantages: includes one-time or recurring options; you can designate what Out to Innovate program you want your donation to support; no PayPal account needed.
  • Disadvantages: NOGLSTP pays a modest processing fee for every payment received; you wait for a very busy volunteer to send you a charitable contribution receipt.

Write a Check

 You are welcome to mail us a check at any time: NOGLSTP, PO Box 91803, Pasadena CA 91109. Download this form to send with your donation. Personal check and checks from your donor-advised fund are welcome.

Donate Stock

Consider donating stock that has appreciated in value. This is a win-win move. Donate stock and you won’t have to pay capital gains taxes on the profits, and the full value of the stock can be deducted as a charitable donation. Payroll Deduction.

Designate NOGLSTP as a beneficiary on your regular charitable (e.g., United Way, Benevity) payroll deductions. See if your employer will match the donated funds. Contact the Out to Innovate Treasurer to fill out any matching or compliance forms.

Planned Giving. 

Designate NOGLSTP as a beneficiary of your life insurance or retirement assets; bequeath a gift to NOGLSTP from your estate via will or living trust.
